Federal Records Manager – Atlanta, GA
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform a records inventory of all physical, paper records
Through the inventory process, identify records in a systematic way to facilitate the efficient organization of the records and the analysis of records’ value for each office
Identify records in a systematic way to facilitate the efficient organization of the records
Identify duplicate, obsolete, changed, and new items
Reorganize and consolidate items as much as possible based on functions and activities, in a way that will enable the application of retention rules to physical and electronic records.
Develop a plan for applying retention rules to documents in physical repositories.
Develop best practices for managing active physical records; identifying official records, developing classification scheme, developing naming conventions, applying retention requirements.
Develop best practices for managing inactive records regardless of format
Provide a detailed assessment of scanning needs for paper records
Develop digitalization plan to scan and store paper records with appropriate metadata in compliance with NARA universal requirements
Execute the digitalization plan
Develop SOP to document process for digitalizing paper records
Develop a file plan for managing temporary electronic records
Assist with the identification of records eligible for disposition action (disposal, extension of the retention requirement, or justify changing the retention to permanent)
Segregate records eligible for disposition from active records
REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of federal records management requirements
Experience in conducting comprehensive inventories of records
Knowledge of records scheduling and experience in records schedule implementation
Experience in records management program development
Strong experience in records maintenance and information management
5 years minimum working with federal records
CRM and/or IGP certification highly desired
Strong organizational and communication skills
Adept with Microsoft Office
Experience with ERM
Bachelors degree in information management or related field
U.S. citizenship required
