Duties and Responsibilities
The Dance Heritage Coalition Video Preservation Hub Manager in Washington, D.C. plays a major role in the completion of a Mellon grant for the digitization of 900 hours of video for inclusion in the Dance Heritage Coalition “Secure Media Network,” to be concluded in early 2015.  In addition, the Hub Manager will take on a number of responsibilities for the operation and maintenance of the video digitization station and the future development of the Dance Heritage Coalition Secure Media Network for archival digital assets, potentially continuing beyond the end of the grant.

The Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) Electronic Archives section seeks qualified candidates to serve as systems manager for its growing digital repository.  The successful candidate will work as a member of a team, with duties that include:

•       organizing, maintaining, converting, and preserving archival born-digital and digitally reformatted electronic records and materials
•       providing access to electronic archives collections through the use of appropriate web search interfaces and databases
•       advising internal and external entities on issues of formatting, migration, conversion, and retention of electronic records
•       designing, managing, and maintaining Electronic Archives Web pages
•       managing the Electronic Archives server farm, including security, redundancy, and backup procedures/routines
•       assisting with hardware and software procurement for the section

New York, NY: Internship, David Yurman Jewelers

David Yurman Jewelers is seeking qualified interns for the archive department.

Duties include scanning all drawings and illustrations in the design department, researching and organizing David Yurman’s original drawing collection, and tagging metadata to all drawings in our in-house database.

Intern will be paid and must work from 10am – 6pm. Internship will last approximately 4-5 months (or when job is finished).

Those applying must have excellent writing skills, highly developed organizational abilities and in depth knowledge in processing visual material and creating finding aids.
