Center for Railroad Photography and Art (CRPA) and Lake Forest College Archives and Special Collections Internship
The Center for Railroad Photography and Art (CRPA), in partnership with Lake Forest College Archives and Special Collections, has up to two openings for paid internships beginning around January 15, 2015. Duties of the intern will include digitizing images, helping to design and refine a digital collections program, metadata creation, and assisting with reference requests related to the Center for Railroad Photography and Art’s collections on deposit at Lake Forest College. There may also be opportunities to assist with the Center’s social media presence.
The intern will report to the Archivist at Lake Forest College and also work closely with the Executive Director of CRPA.
Interns must be enrolled in a graduate program in library science, history or a closely related field. Desired qualifications include coursework in digital collections, good computer skills, ability to pay close attention to detail, and reliability.
The intern must work Monday–Friday between the hours of 9-5. Intern must work at least 10 hours, and no more than 20.
The Center for Railroad Photography & Art (www.railphoto-art.org) is a non-for-profit arts and education organization whose mission is to preserve and present significant images of railroading. Its exhibitions, publications, and symposiums explore the intersections of railroad art and culture with American history and life.
