POSITION TITLE:              Content Specialist
DEPARTMENT:                 Production/Content Management
SUPERVISOR’S TITLE:    Content Manager

Do you love music television?  Did you run home after school to watch MTV and VH1?  Did you still listen to obscure bands from 120 Minutes and the newest artists appearing on Yo! MTV Raps?  Do you live for 80s and 90s music?

•       Create clips from the Music Group’s long form digital assets.
•       Catalog digital assets per MTVN metadata standards.
•       Responsible for identifying and selecting most relevant scenes from the footage library’s long form digital assets.
•       Research various websites and other resources to properly identify and describe assets for efficient cataloging.
•       Enter contextual metadata for assigned assets including titles, plain language description, multiple keywords and other required metadata fields to optimize search results.
•       Evaluate existing records in ALIAS for accuracy and correct errors within ALIAS according to MTVN metadata standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
•       Familiarity with Viacom Music programming is necessary.
•       Experience with cataloging and clip selection workflows for video, photographic and other media content for broadcast and web.
•       Excellent computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word).
•       Must have excellent writing and analytical skills, show good judgment and be detail oriented.
•       Must have excellent interpersonal, follow-through and communication skills (both verbal & written).
•       You must be highly adaptable, able to meet deadlines, solve problems independently, follow directions and protocol, and be comfortable using technology.
•       College degree is preferred or equivalent work experience is required; (Bachelor’s degree preferred-with an emphasis in Communications or Library Services).
DESIRED QUALIFICATION/SKILLS
•       Understanding of digital ingestion and digital workflows for broadcast.
•       Familiarity using ALIAS and PTS.
•       Extensive knowledge and interest in music, entertainment and pop culture.
