The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation is looking for a Los Angeles based archivist or archival graduate student to assist with the initial processing of an audio/visual collection. The collection has approximately 5,000 tapes in a variety of formats including but not limited to DAT, BetaSP, and DVCProHD.

The assistant should be knowledgeable about modern video formats as well as some film and audio formats. They will work closely with the J&H Archivist to refine an inventory and to pack and ship paper records to New Orleans. It is anticipated that this work will take no longer than two weeks. Additionally the assistant will be the Los Angeles liaison to the collection in the event that information needs to be verified or tapes need to be retrieved.

The assistant should have excellent communication and organizational skills. They will also be professional, trustworthy and conscious.

Compensation is negotiable and based upon skills and experience. The work needs to be completed by December 2015.
