Job Description (if URL to posting not available): The congregational archives manager will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Sisters of St. Francis and the St. Marianne Cope Shrine & Museum archives. Primary emphasis will be the management of the archives department and its multiple collections.

Responsibilities will include the development of congregational policies and procedures for collections management, tailoring to our religious community; a long-term plan for the collection; and an archival program which addresses a plan for future additions to the existing collection, as well as a final external repository.  Incumbent will also supervise all archive personnel and will report directly to the leadership team.  Position is located in Syracuse, NY.  Some travel required to our various locations.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in History or related field; MLS from an ALA accredited program or MA in related field preferred; certification with ACA (Academy of Certified Archivists) highly desired; proven management experience; records management background; in-depth knowledge of archival principles and practices with an emphasis on religious congregations; excellent communication, public speaking and writing skills; ability to take concepts and convert to strategic and tactical plans.
