Position Title: Archives and Digital Projects Assistant

Job Summary:
With direction from department archivists, the incumbent organizes, preserves, and describes archival collections containing manuscripts, photographs, audiovisual items, electronic records, digitized materials, publications,reformatting,and migration of digital assets and contributes descriptive metadata for digital projects and other archival materials. The assistant coordinates digitization and metadata activities for the 50th Anniversary Historical Documentation project; the Piloting Linked Data for Artists Books project; and the Athletics Records digitization project. Provides transfer and acquisition assistance to department archivists.
Manages stack maintenance for archival collections and preservation activities for archival collections. Monitors climate control in department stack areas. Serves as supervisor for student assistants performing archival processing tasks.
Works scheduled shifts at the Special Collections reference desk, providing assistance to undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, and other members of the local and research communities.

Salary: Hourly $21.01 – $24.14
Work Schedule: 8-5, M-F
Limited Appt Position, 100%
A few times a year with advance notice, this position may be asked to work evening or weekend hours for special events. This position works in an alarm-controlled, high-security environment containing rare materials.
