The Arizona State Archives seeks a candidate to archive websites for the State of Arizona using the Archive-It service. The position will work independently to identify, harvest and ensure accessibility of our web collections of departmental and state agency websites. The candidate will also research and curate thematic website collections based on current events relevant to the state government, including the 2016 Presidential election. In addition, the candidate will enhance web collections by creating a finding aid for our digital catalog. This position is also responsible for writing and designing publicity materials to increase public awareness of the website collection.
The Web Archivist position consists of 750 hours that must be fulfilled before September 30, 2016. The applicant may choose her or his own schedule, but work must be completed between Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m.

Hourly rate is $16.75 per hour.

The person will work through Randstad staffing agency due to state mandates.
The person must be able to pass a background and fingerprint check.

Minimal skills needed:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access
• Technical knowledge of web archiving and/or web technologies
• Comfortable learning new technologies and software
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Undergraduate degree in the humanities, library science, computer science or related field. Graduate coursework preferred.

Preferred qualifications
• Experience working in an archive, library or cultural organization
• Experience working with content management systems
• Knowledge of archival theory, best practices and standards
• Knowledge of metadata standards
• Knowledge of regular expressions
• Working knowledge of desktop publishing software
