Summary
GG+A is looking for Digitization Interns to assist in digitizing the archives of our Chief Executive Officer. Interns will scan documents and assist in uploading them into SharePoint and assigning metadata, as well as occasionally audit physical holdings against our digital repository. Interns may also assist in the physical arrangement of documents and their preparation for scanning as necessary. This position reports to the Knowledge Resources Associate. There are multiple openings for this position, and openings will be filled on a rolling basis. Work hours are flexible, though interns are expected to commit to working at least 10 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
– Scanning the CEO’s files under direction of the KR Associate
– Auditing scans for clarity and accuracy
– Uploading scanned documents to SharePoint
– Assigning metadata to uploaded documents
– Other archival duties as assigned
Core Competencies
– Familiarity with current archival processes and standards (DACS, MPLP) preferred
– Awareness of digitization best practices
– Strong attention to detail
– Ability to work independently as well as with others
– Interest in corporate/business archives or records management and/or the philanthropic sector is preferred

Minimum Qualifications
– Currently pursuing an MLIS degree, with preference for students specializing in archives or special collections
– A background in history, English, or another liberal arts or humanities field is preferred
– Experience with the Microsoft suite
– Knowledge of metadata standards
– Tolerance for dust and repetitive work
– Please note that this position will not be restricted to those who are physically able to lift record cartons: if you are physically unable, arrangements will be made

Compensation
This position will pay $10/hour.
