Please include instructions for how to apply.: The DAM System Analyst is charged with configuring the Hospital’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, according to the Hospital’s custom needs and in collaboration with both the DAM governance committee and the DAM vendor (MerlinOne), and populating the system with the initial set of digital assets from the Marketing Team.
At the conclusion of the DAM System Analyst’s tenure, the DAM should be configured properly and digital assets from Marketing should be implemented in the system and fully accessible to the key stakeholders, and the process should be honed to the point that it can be replicated with other departments across the organization.
Specific responsibilities:
1. Define and implement taxonomies, in collaboration with the DAM governance committee, to be utilized in the DAM.
2. Configures components of the DAM required to support the defined taxonomies and assets to be included.
3. Ensures that the initial set of assets are properly loaded and identified.
4. Develop necessary documentation, such as Job Aids, to be used for the adoption of the DAM by other stakeholders.
5. Serves temporarily as the main power user/administrator of the DAM system during the implementation process.
6. Monitors and assists with integrity of digital files and metadata within the DAM for the purposes of controlling, versioning, repurposing and archiving according to administrative direction.
7. Ensures the initial set of DAM users can properly access the system and the assets contained within it.
8. Applies best practices in content management.
9. Consults with core team to optimize user experience.
10. Optimizes automated methods of content categorization via taxonomies and associated classification algorithms.
Qualifications
1. Previous experience implementing and administering a DAM system of similar scope to Merlin One
2. Thorough understanding of taxonomy development and asset categorization protocols.
3. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
4. Degree in library science or related discipline a plus.
