Please include instructions for how to apply.: The Audio/Visual intern will assist with a variety of tasks, including describing and inventorying the audiovisual collection. The intern will work primarily with the audiovisual archivist to inventory public domain White House Communications Agency (WHCA) video recordings, create metadata for born-digital records, and compile audiovisual content for social media purposes.
Duties include, but are not limited to arrangement and description, metadata creation, collection research, and rehousing of audiovisual materials. This opportunity will allow the intern to gain practical, hands-on experience working with a variety of media, physical and born-digital photographs, audio and video recordings while learning about the day-to-day operations of managing audiovisual collections.
Current graduate student or recent graduates in the fields of library science, archives, public history, history or related disciplines are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of audiovisual software and equipment is preferred but not essential.
