Please include instructions for how to apply.: Iowa State University Library is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual for the position of Processing Archivist. This position supports access to and preservation of Special Collections and University Archives rare and unique resources, including manuscript and university archives collections, through physical arrangement and intellectual description. Additional duties will include some reference and outreach work, as well as participation in library committees and working groups.

A successful Processing Archivist will need to be able to continually demonstrate effective job performance, supervisory duties (as assigned), development and growth by increasing knowledge and understanding of the profession. All Librarians will have potential to, or will demonstrate, effective institutional service and explore or have established areas of research and/or participation in relevant external professional activities, establishing area(s) of research interest or exhibiting leadership at higher Librarian levels.

An Archivist (Librarian I) will explore, show interest in and have potential for institutional service and external professional activities. Important attributes will include how to plan, organize, set and achieve goals. Having the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate will be essential to your success, and you’ll be working alongside us to achieve this goal. The candidate will also need to embrace the Library’s core values, demonstrate collegiality, and have strong commitment to public service and the land grant mission.
