Job Description:

The material: A family collection of letters, photographs, diaries, documents and ephemera. The period covered begins in the late 19th century, continues through WW I and WW II and extends to the present day.

The assignment:
-review collection and help design a strategy for further actions.
-advise on digitizing material and preserving originals.
-advise on pursuing additional research.
-help accessing large digitized collections and databases (libraries, museums, universities).
-devise a system of cataloguing material to make it accessible to current and future family members.
-recommend individuals or organizations able to perform the necessary practical tasks.

Experience:
– up to date technical archivist credentials
– since understanding the context is important, applicants should have some familiarity with 19th and 20th century history and culture.
– ability to work with organizations and professionals outside the US.
