Title: Project Archivist
Type: Contract Position
Hours: 20-24 hours per week / flexible schedule
Availability: Immediate
Collection Description: Roughly 300 linear feet of documents, photographs, ephemera and artifacts, 80 framed pieces, mascot regalia, and some wearables. Focus is on company culture, social impact, and brand recognition. Small backlog of accessions to process. Digital archives is in early stage. Finding aids expansion in progress.
Job Description: Support the management, maintenance and growth of the Best Buy company archives including work around: identification, digitization, finding aids, cataloging, intake evaluation, operating systems (Sharepoint and GAIN), archival system maintenance, development and expansion of the archives, relationship building, communication planning, and archive advisory committee leadership. Support milestone and anniversary events. Curate display and trophy cases in the corporate office. Organize and lead tours.
Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
4 years’ demonstrated success in archival experience, research and reference services required.
Strong writing and verbal communication skills required.
Proficient technical skills in Microsoft Office, Excel and project management tools preferred.
Proficient skills in project management preferred.
Experience in large global consumer-oriented business preferred.
Experience with cross-functional teams preferred.
High level of leadership skills.
Proficient ability to work independently.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
