The Archivist assists in collecting, preserving, researching, programming, digitization, outreach, and public relations in the area of Quincy history, and all other related work as required. They provide timely public access to all Special Collections and Archives including materials, art, and objects owned by the Thomas Crane Public Library. Archivists engage in outreach and design and execute programming to support Special Collections, including mounting exhibitions, displaying collections, and providing reference, genealogical and related services. Requirements:
* Must have an M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited library school and a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education
* Minimum two years of experience in archival collection processing and management
* One year of experience providing direct public services required, such as circulation, reader’s/media advisory and/or reference/information services, or other comparable
* Must have demonstrated competency with automated cataloging systems, and the ability to master new systems and system upgrades; experience with SirsiDynix, Omeka, and collections management system (e.g. Past Perfect, Archives Space, etc… ) an asset
* Knowledge of archival and local history cataloging, preservation and organization
* Must have knowledge of general and specialized research tools and techniques, particularly in the area of local history

Schedule:
Full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, to include at least two evenings per week and two Saturdays per month.
