This is a short-term contract to finish an archiving job not completed by our previous archivist. My family has a volume of letters, photos and videos that we need to have classified, placed in Omeka, and appropriately tagged. We are looking for an archivist with good organizational and internet skills familiar both with Omeka, and the Dublin Core.
Our present Omeka instantiation is solid and can be expanded should new materials require. We need to have these last materials tagged, and placed into Omeka. Additionally, we would want the materials inputted to be identified not only per date, but made keyword searchable per Brown family members, other relatives or friends present, and location.
Previous Omeka experience is required. Contractors must be comfortable working remotely.. Materials will be provided either on-line, or on USB Drives.
We expect the work will consist of the following elements:
• Materials assessment by archivist
• Archivist workplan to Brown and Brown for review, discussion, and possible revision. Workplan to include milestones and timetables.
• Materials’ digital presence modified, as required, for input into Omeka
• Input and classification of materials
After initial assessment of the volume materials that remain to be processed, the archivist will be required to provide a work plan with milestones and finish date for our review and discussion.
