The State Archives is the largest in the state, with over 100,000 cubic feet of materials. The Governor’s summer intern will work in the processing department and will work closely with IARA archivists to learn how to arrange and describe a range of archival materials and how to write scope and content notes that will be included in the Archives Catalog. There will be plenty of opportunities for the intern to explore other interests, such as working in the conservation lab or creating a digital exhibit. The State Archives is currently preparing to move to a new building, and the intern will also assist with various tasks related to preparing the collection for the move.
