About Us
The University System of Georgia (USG) is comprised of 26 higher education institutions as well as the University System Office (USO). Within the USO, our administrative operations are primarily housed in the Trinity Washington Building located in downtown Atlanta. Our Information Technology Services (ITS) division is located in Athens. The University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC) is located in Sandersville. The Georgia Public Library System is located in Atlanta. The Georgia Archives is located in Morrow. The State of Georgia Records Center is located in Austell.
The Georgia Archives’ mission is to Collect, Preserve, and Provide Access to the historic records of Georgia, and to assist state and local governments with records management. The building and our collections are open to the public without charge.

Location
The Georgia Archives is located at 5800 Jonesboro Road, Morrow, next to the Southeastern Branch of the National Archives and Clayton State University.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing the Original Document Reading Area, including monitoring the use of records by patrons, and for processing records.
Responsibilities
1. Monitor use of original records by patrons, including providing information and assistance to patrons.
2. Scan records/make photocopies.
3. Rehouse records.
4. Process records, create metadata, and upload records.
5. Retrieve, compile, distribute, and refile records.
6. Perform quality control and digitally enhance records.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with classes in Archives;
One or more years of experience working with patrons in an original document reading area.
One or more years of experience processing original records.
Appropriate level of education and/or training may substitute for above requirements.
