Primary Purpose of the Position:
The primary purpose of the Digitization Archivist is to digitize materials and create metadata for inclusion in the North Carolina Digital Collections. This position is also involved in the maintenance of the State Archives website, virtual transcription program, and other digital access projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Digitizes materials for the North Carolina Digital Collections.
Indexes materials for the North Carolina Digital Collection using Library of Congress Subject Headings, Getty Research Institute’s Art & Architecture (AAT), and other national or local metadata standards.
Uploads collections utilizing Quartex Client Portal.
Participates in division digital projects, including data cleanup projects within the digital collections and the archival cataloging database.
Occasional management of our crowdsourcing program, TranscribeNC, including importing and exporting of items. Collaborates with supervisor and other division staff on outreach and project planning.
Contributes to the development and maintenance of the division website, social media presence, and promotional materials.
Occasional Saturday Search Room duty.
