The National Council for Preservation Education (NCPE) offers paid internships; apply at the URL provided from now until the Oct 29 deadline. NCPE offers internships to college students and recent graduates in partnership with the National Park Service (NPS) and Bureau of Land Management at parks, NPS/BLM offices, and other Federal agencies across the U.S. These 10-30 week paid internships are for Winter-Spring 2025.
Interns work under the guidance and supervision of Federal staff, gaining work experience, exploring careers, and networking opportunities. There are over 30 positions available starting in January at sites as diverse as the Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site in Brookline, MA; Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park in Macon, GA; NPS’s Center for Media Services in Charles Town, WV; Women’s Rights and Harriet Tubman National Historical Parks in Seneca Falls and Auburn, NY; African American Civil Rights Network in Washington, DC; and BLM’s Canyons of the Ancients Museum in Dolores, CO.
To be eligible, you must be a college student or have graduated within the past 12 months with a degree/minor/concentration/certificate in historic preservation, museum studies, anthropology/archeology, architecture, history, communications, GIS/geography, or allied fields.
