Working under limited supervision, this position assists the Metadata Specialist with the creation of descriptive metadata to facilitate discovery of digital assets. This work will align with the Society’s implementation of a new DAMS and the development of a new museum. The work of this position will require archives processing knowledge, research capabilities, and familiarity with library and archives metadata. This is a limited term position, with an estimated end date of June 2025.
Duties:
-Following internal standards, create metadata for newly digitized assets
-Create accurate and inclusive/culturally sensitive records
-Review newly created metadata for quality control
-Update finding aids and catalog records with links to the new asset records
