DIGITAL VIDEO ARCHIVE MEDIA MANAGEMENT CONSULTING
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

Educational Video Center (EVC) is an award-winning non-profit youth media arts and social justice organization dedicated to teaching documentary video as a means to develop the artistic, critical literacy, and career skills of young people, while nurturing their idealism and commitment to social change.

For over 40 years, young people from mostly Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC), working class, migrant, and LGBTQIA+ communities have come to EVC to collaboratively produce documentary films about their lives, their communities, as well as the social, cultural, educational, and political issues confronting them.

EVC’s Youth Up Documentary Archive (YUDA) is a rich, living ethnography of the experiences of youth learning, creating, struggling, and leading change efforts in an urban center that mirrors the dynamic and troubled heart of our nation.

EVC is seeking a Digital Video Archive Media Management Consultant to help with a time sensitive short-term project to inventory, consolidate, synchronize, and back-up multiple copies of our digital video archive (approximately 250+ videos) on external hard drives and/or non-cloud based storage for safekeeping. Different iterations of our archive are currently housed on Vimeo, Google drive, Pegasus & G-RAID drives, and a DAM.

Our end goal is to have:
●a master version of our entire archive replicated multiple times and backed up on
external hard drives and/or non-cloud based storage
●a written report detailing the work completed and recommendations for moving forward
●a written protocol for synchronization as we add new films to the archive

This project will involve working onsite at EVC’s offices in the West Village as well as some time working remotely.

Time frame for project completion: Ideally 1 – 2 weeks

Budget: Up to $1,000

Request for Proposals: Proposals should be sent to aqureshi@evc.org and should include an understanding of our needs; details on similar experiences and references; project timeline and budget details.

Deadline to submit proposal: Friday March 14, 2025
