Project STAND Mellon Funded Coordinator

Who We Are: Project STAND is a grassroots archival consortia project with colleges and universities around the country, that includes archivists, educators, and student organizers, founded to create a centralized digital space highlighting analog and digital collections emphasizing student activism in marginalized communities. Project STAND fosters ethical documentation of contemporary and past social justice movements in under documented student populations. STAND also advocates for collections by collaborating with educators to provide pedagogical support, create digital resources, hosts workshops, and forums for information professionals, academics, technologists, humanists, etc. interested in building communities with student organizers and their allies, leading to sustainable relationships, and inclusive physical and digital spaces of accountability, diversity, justice and equity.
Build with Us: We are looking for an independent contractor to provide logistics and project management support for the project as part of our three-year grant, “Freedom Dreaming, Archives and Liberatory Spaces: How Project STAND Supports Student Activism and Legacy.”

Key Areas of Work: contractor will design the full scope of work in collaboration with the STAND team, with a focus on the following needs:

Administrative:

Attend/schedule monthly meetings.
Serve as the primary lead for logistics for all grant-related activities, including residencies, workshops, monthly meetings, and summit.
Assist in coordinating travel arrangements, venue bookings, catering, and other logistical details.
Ensure efficient execution of projects, events and programs.
Collaborate with internal and external collaborators/partners to ensure seamless program delivery and alignment with grant objectives.
Support program design and development, contributing ideas and feedback.
Build and maintain relationships with diverse communities and partners.

Grant Reporting and Budget Management:
Prepare timely and accurate grant reports.
Collaborate with the finance team to prepare financial reports.

Social Media and Communications:
Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to promote Project STAND activities/content.
Track and analyze social media metrics to measure impact and inform future strategies.


Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in grant administration, project management, and event planning.
Strong commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion
Proven track record of establishing and managing successful social media campaigns.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with information science, archiving, and working with student organizations is a plus.

This is a 1 year grant-funded engagement with the possibility of the contract being renewed. This contract requires frequent visits to the University of Maryland in College Park and Washington D.C. Preference will be given to contractors who reside in the District of Columbia and Maryland area. The position will require travel and ability to attend all grant-related programming.
