The intern, working alongside an archivist, will develop skills in preservation, digitization, and restoration at a local history archive to advance their career goals.

The intern will support efforts to link the work of the SMSC and the programs of the Southern Maryland National Heritage Area. The intern will assist the archivist in advancing SMSC initiatives designed to help celebrate the US’s 250th anniversary as a nation.

Dates of the internship:
May 19 – July 28, 2025

Compensation:
$15.00 per hours/40 hours per week

Qualifications:
Graduate students actively enrolled in an educational program at the university level seeking a degree in archival or museum studies, particularly those wishing to complete a practicum.
