Job Summary:
As we celebrate four decades of service, the Chinese Culture Connection (CCC) is launching its first archival preservation project to document the organization’s history and impact.
We are seeking a Student Archivist / Research Assistant to support this effort. Our collection includes hundreds of photographic slides, film rolls, and negatives, as well as several volumes of newspaper clippings and event programs dating back to 1985. These materials capture CCC’s early cultural programs held at public schools, libraries, and museums, as well as cultural resources the organization has preserved
(including historical photographs of China).
This role will begin as volunteer-based, but you’ll have real autonomy and leadership in carrying out the project, with full guidance and support from CCC staff. Work hours are flexible, and we support OPT/CPT participation for international students. As the project develops, we aim to secure funding for stipends or paid opportunities.

Job Responsibilities
• Scanning, digitizing, and cataloging archival materials
• Creating metadata and organizing archival records
• Developing systems for long-term preservation
• Explore ways for the public to access and engage with the archive
• Supporting future grant applications related to archive development

Qualifications
This position is ideal for students in Library and Information Science, Archival Studies, History, or Museum Studies who are eager to gain hands-on experience while helping preserve Chinese-American heritage in Greater Boston.

To Apply: Send a resume and cover letter to zijiaz@chinesecultureconnection.org with the subject line
