Summer Internship Opportunity
Sisters of Charity of Nazareth
Heritage Center

The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth Heritage Center is seeking enthusiastic applicants for the position of Summer Intern. The intern’s primary focus will be a cross-referencing project spanning a variety of materials and collections. Under the supervision of professional archives and museum staff, the intern will also assist with other archival and museum work such as processing, describing, and digitizing collections; cataloging artifacts; creating finding aids; reference services; and outreach activities.

Internship dates and hours are flexible between the dates of June 1 and August 15, 2026. Archival Center hours are Monday through Friday, 9:30am to 4:30pm. Heritage Hall hours are Tuesday through Saturday 9:00am to 4:30pm. The intern will be expected to commit to at least 250 hours of work. Hours may be completed through seven weeks of full-time work, or part time over a more extended period. We will work with the intern and their academic institution to provide the necessary information to grant academic credit if requested.

The SCN Heritage Center is located on the campus of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Nazareth, Kentucky. The SCN campus is located just north of Bardstown, Kentucky, and about 45 minutes south of Louisville, Kentucky.

Compensation: Housing is available on the SCN campus at no cost. Lunch is provided Monday-Friday, in addition to a $75/week stipend.

Qualifications:
• Applicants must be at least 18
• Actively pursuing or interested in undergraduate or graduate education in library science, archival management, history, or a related field
• Strong verbal and writing skills
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong sense of responsibility and confidentiality
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
