The Office of the Secretary of the Senate is currently seeking a talented Graduate Archival Intern to join the Senate Historical Office for the Summer 2026 term.

This program offers MLIS students a unique opportunity to engage with the archival practices of the U.S. Senate. From metadata cleaning to processing electronic committee records, you will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, historical environment. Beyond core projects, you will join a cohort of interns for educational lectures, tours, and professional development activities across the Capitol.

We are currently looking for candidates who are:
Currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited MLIS program.
In possession of at least one completed semester of graduate study.
Detail-oriented researchers with a passion for history and records management.

Program Details:
Dates: June 1 – July 31, 2026
Compensation: $20/hour (Graduate level)
Location: Washington, D.C. (U.S. Capitol)
