David Yurman Jewelers is seeking qualified interns for the archive department.

Duties include scanning all drawings and illustrations in the design department, researching and organizing David Yurman’s original drawing collection, and tagging metadata to all drawings in our in-house database.

Intern will be paid and must work from 10am – 6pm. Internship will last approximately 4-5 months (or when job is finished).

Those applying must have excellent writing skills, highly developed organizational abilities and in depth knowledge in processing visual material and creating finding aids.

The Mississippi Department of Archives and History seeks an innovative and experienced professional to oversee the MDAH Library and direct the Reference Services section of the Archives and Records Services Division. The incumbent leads and provides high quality, specialized on-site, mail and on-line services to state agencies, government officials, scholars, and the public; develops, coordinates and implements policies and procedures to ensure equal access and services for all users; plans and coordinates innovative outreach activities and public programs; makes oral presentations and represents the Department at historical venues; and may manage and participate in special research projects. Administrative responsibilities include participation in the Division management team, budgeting, volunteer recruitment and oversight, and staff hiring, scheduling, evaluation, training, and development. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (6-8 per year).

Yellowstone National Park is seeking five graduate students (or recent graduates) to volunteer in the park’s archives for five days, September 22-26, 2014.  Students will be a part of an innovative project to arrange and describe a large portion of our historic collections.  While training will be provided, applicants are required to have at least 3 credit hours of archival arrangement and description in order to qualify.  Student volunteers will receive a stipend of $600 to cover the costs of travel, housing, and miscellaneous expenses.
