3. Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited college or university.
4. Promotes a customer centered philosophy, maintains positive staff relationships, and is sensitive to the needs of a diverse customer base.
5. Works in conjunction with ClevDPL Manager to meet the supervisory and management needs of the department.
6. As directed by ClevDPL manager, trains and motivates staff.
7. As directed by ClevDPL manager, assists in planning and implementing preservation practices for the physical library collections, including establishing an effective environmental monitoring program and an IPM program.
8. As directed by ClevDPL manager, assists in developing guidelines related to preservation and conservation practice.
9. Understands digitization, metadata, and digital preservation and is capable of performing digitization, metadata work, and digital preservation work. Is aware of appropriate tools, workflows and standards related to those three areas.
10. As directed by ClevDPL manager, communicates with vendors including monitoring vendor contracts, preparing instructions for vendors, inspecting finished work, and returning work for correction.
11. As directed by ClevDPL manager, communicates with other agency managers and staff regarding ClevDPL work, including digitization, preservation and other functions.
12. As directed by ClevDPL manager, and following unit policies, may scan, post-process, or create metadata for original and digital collections.
13. Professional experience in Digitization
14. As directed by ClevDPL manager, develops appropriate plans for monitoring exhibition programs throughout the libraries for impact on physical collections.
15. Performs public service including reference work consistent with RUSA guidelines, facilitates use of library computers and the use of Library technology and equipment, and assists patrons to find materials, use materials, and reserve materials.
16. Works closely with customers to ensure consistency among lab operations, customer service initiatives, and training. Investigates and resolves public service problems.
17. Serves as a resource person and navigator regarding lab use, digitization, preservation, and other ClevDPL functions.
