Assistant-Archives primarily performs archival and museum collections processing and cataloging duties. Specifically, below are the key responsibilities as directed by Director-Archives:
Work with the Director-Archives and Associate-Archives to organize, label, house and appropriately store artifacts and records from Delta’s family of 40+ airlines.
Inventory and catalog items in PastPerfect database.
Assist in developing and updating authority files and cataloging manuals.
Supervise volunteers and interns as needed.
Contribute to social media outreach (blog, Facebook) and exhibit preparation.
Graduate degree in Archival or Museum Studies, Library Science, or related field; or, equivalent combination of education and 2+ years experience with archives or museum collections.
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office products. Experience with Microsoft Photoshop and PastPerfect Museum Software a plus.
Strong organizational and data entry skills with attention to detail and high-accuracy work product.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
Ability to lift 40 lbs., move boxes to high and low shelves and climb ladders.
