Job Vacancy: Special Collections Manager
The Vigo County Public Library in Terre Haute, Indiana, currently has a full-time salaried non-exempt 40 hours per week job available for the position of Special Collections Manager. An ALA accredited Master of Library Science degree is required and must be able to obtain an Indiana Librarian Certification at the Department Head level of LC4 or higher. Special Collections or Archives Specialization preferred with relevant experience. Three or more years of experience leading a team in a supervisory or management/administrative role required.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Special Collections Manager is responsible for the overall management of SPC in support of the goals and objectives of the VCPL. Management of SPC includes establishing and implementing priorities for the development of collections, reference & research services, the acquisition, processing, arrangement, description and accessibility of archival materials with emphasis on Vigo County & Indiana. The SPC Manager supervises Special Collections staff and workflow providing leadership through policy recommendation, long-range planning, team-building and professional management strategies in direct support of the Community Connections Coordinator and the VCPL.
SALARY/BENEFITS:
Job Class 3, full-time salaried non-exempt position. Annualized salary of $36,200.06 ($1,392.31 bi-weekly in 2016) depending on qualifications
