Position Description Performs semi-professional work on various projects and programs. Work is performed under supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Employee performance is based upon a review of completed work and overall results obtained. May supervise specialized clerical section.
Edit, abstract, and index oral history interview transcripts in accordance with the SWC Oral History style guide
Support Unit Manager with A/V student worker supervision
Develop oral history website and dspace holdings
Oversee audio and video transcription workflow
Manage A/V collections databases and spreadsheets
Assess and prioritize recordings for digitization and transcription
Ensure patron and donor requests for digitization and transcripts are done in a timely manner
Required Qualifications High school plus 4 years experience. Additional education may substitute on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or Masters degree in History, English, Museum Science or related field. Experience transcribing spoken word and editing the written word. Knowledge of best practices and experience processing oral history interviews. Experience working in a special collections library, museum, or general library setting. Ability to work cooperatively with staff and students, exceptional organizational skills, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and attentive to details.
