Please include instructions for how to apply.: Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens is excited to announce a unique opportunity to help shape a new Library and Archives center. The Digital Initiatives Librarian will be a thought partner to the Head of Archives & Special Collections as Hillwood embarks upon construction of a state-of-art research center.
Key job elements include:
• Perform original and copy cataloging in all formats in both English and non-English languages
• Manage library acquisitions including ordering and receiving processes, verifying bibliographic information for items ordered and completing requisitions
• Manage serials and auction catalog collections by checking in new issues/catalogs, claiming missing issues, and renewing subscriptions. Retroactively catalog older auction catalogs.
• Collaborate with the Head of Archives & Special Collections in assessing policies and workflows for both the library and archives
• Manage copyright and licensing for exhibitions, publications, and other projects
• Serve as the administrator for the institutional digital asset management system (DAMS)

Qualified applicants will possess the following education and experience:
• Master’s degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA accredited program
• Knowledge of automated cataloging using modern metadata standards, authority control, and acquisitions processes such as Library of Congress Classifications, AACR2, MARC21, LC subject headings, RDA and LCNAF
• Knowledge of OCLC Connexion Client and integrated library systems
• Understanding of library acquisition operations, policies and procedures
• Experience in developing, preserving and managing digital collections in a library, archives or museum setting
• Strong understanding of copyright
• Experience with library catalogs, research databases and other library related software
• Understanding of appropriate preservation practices for rare books and other special collection materials
