Job Description (if URL to posting not available). Please include instructions for how to apply.: The primary purpose of this position is to act as a processing archivist at the Indiana State Archives.

The position coordinates the intake, processing, and ongoing maintenance and description of the Indiana State Archives’ holdings and supports the efficient operation of public and reference services at the Indiana State Archives by aiding patrons in using original, microfilmed and digital materials.

The archivist will appraise , arrange and describe incoming and existing government records, work with government units to transfer records, utilize AXAEM to accession records and manage the collection. The archivist will be asked to create and update finding aids and other research tools, and to work with interns and volunteers on archival projects. About 10-15% of the job will take place on the reference desk, where the archivist will help patrons with research questions via the phone and in-person.
