Job Description (if URL to posting not available). Please include instructions for how to apply.: The South Carolina State Historical Records Advisory Board (SHRAB) has one part-time, paid position available for an individual interested in South Carolina history and archiving.

The project assistant will work with the South Carolina State Historical Records Advisory Board to gather and analyze survey data collected from archives, museums, and libraries across the state concerning the board’s strategic goals. The project assistant also will help organize several focus groups for the strategic goals and one for African American archives and libraries, which will include representatives from historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) around South Carolina. Other SHRAB-related duties may be assigned to the project assistant as needed.

The position is up to 20 hours per week at a pay rate of $12/hour. The position is available starting February 17, 2020 through November 20th, 2020.

Required:

• Must be detail-oriented.
• Must be proficient in a wide variety of computing applications and comfortable working with new or unfamiliar applications or systems.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be able to lift boxes up to 25 lbs

Preferred:

• Familiarity with current archival standards and practices.
• Some knowledge of South Carolina history.
