Please include instructions for how to apply.: KAHS is seeking a Consultant who can support our Collections Care project by conducting an inventory of our collections/artifacts (physical and digital), draft a collections care plan which incorporates a digital archive plan and, as time permits, digital archival to train volunteers on the process. Supplemental activities may also include cataloging and indexing, data management in digital repository software, rights management, and other duties as needed and agreed upon.
We anticipate the Collections Care project will encompass approximately 5 months from execution of a contract, from March 2020 through July 2020 for a total of 100 hours at $25 an hour, no benefits. An average weekly schedule could consist of 20-25 hours of work. Hours of operation may need to coincide with business hours of the Wing Luke Museum (Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm), as well as that of available volunteers for the purposes of conducting inventory of Korean language materials.
We are seeking a consultant, an archivist, or a recent graduate with a degree in museology, library and information science, or archival studies. The ideal candidate will be self‐directed, detail‐oriented, and comfortable with technology. Knowledge of Korean language and Korean American history is welcome, but not required.
