Please include instructions for how to apply.: The Digital Archivist collects, preserves, and makes accessible the digital archival records of Carleton College using a creative mix of both traditional archival practices and techniques, as well as scripting, database queries, and data analysis.
The Digital Archivist oversees all aspects of the archival management system and public archives catalog. As a member of the Gould Library Special Collections and Archives Department, this position strategizes new website tools and software utilities to improve access to archival collections and archival processing methods. In addition, the Digital Archivist advises other campus departments on digital preservation and self-archiving.

The successful candidate possesses a Master’s degree in Library Science, Archives and Records Management, or a related field and has at least one year of experience working in the field. Must have strong experience working with archives management systems (Collective Access, ArchivesSpace, Archon, AtoM). Preferred qualifications include two plus years of experience overseeing the operation of an archival management system and experience with archival metadata and encoding standards such as DACS and EAD.
