Please include instructions for how to apply.: The Archives & Document Control Assistant will provide archival support as part of the Facility Information Systems group. This is a 2-year appointment with the possibility of extension. The position is hybrid. The position pays $25.00, hourly.

The Facilities Archive consists of over 150,000 documents related to the physical plant of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This includes architectural drawings, manuals, reports, and other construction documentation, in both digital and physical formats. Applicants with an interest in architecture and design records or historical preservation are encouraged to apply. Applications from recent graduates are welcome.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
• Index construction documents in document management system
• Scan and enhance record drawings using imaging hardware/software
• Utilize electronic database to index, store, and manage documentation
• Work with the archivist to review project documents and ensure their accuracy, quality and integrity
• Provide research assistance to DoF users
• Maintain and perform data entry and quality assurance
• Help train users on archiving systems and database
• Help survey and rehouse architectural drawings

Qualifications & Technical Skills
• Degree in Archives & Library Science, Information Science, Architecture, Interior Design; or combination of relevant skills.
• Familiarity with Windows OS, Office 365 and SharePoint
• Adobe Creative Cloud
• Metadata and data management skills
• Ability to understand, analyze and evaluate documentation
• Attention to detail, ability to work independently, and time management skills are required
