Job Description (if URL to posting not available). Please include instructions for how to apply.: The BSA role concentrates on the redesign of Harvard’s digital preservation repository.

Harvard University is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to be responsible for the capture, analysis, and documentation of user and system requirements to inform the design of Harvard University’s digital preservation repository (DRS).

The DRS Modernization project is a multi-year effort to revitalize infrastructure and services preserving Harvard’s digital scholarly resources and institutional records for future use by faculty, students, administrators, and staff, furthering the University’s research, teaching, and learning mission and safeguarding its legacy. The project is an intense collaborative effort orchestrated across the Harvard Library, school libraries, and commercial vendors, and/or open-source development partners.

The Senior BSA is a flexible, team-focused, organized person with a track record of successfully eliciting and communicating user and system requirements in a complex and demanding stakeholder environment. The Senior BSA reports to the Manager, Project and Portfolio Management in Library Technology Services and is part of a team of analysts, change managers, and technologists assembled specifically for the DRS Modernization project. On this project, the Senior BSA works closely with the Harvard Library Head of Digital Preservation, key stakeholders in Harvard Library and schools, and the effort’s project manager and digital repository architect. The person in this role is expected to quickly demonstrate a high degree of familiarity with digital preservation priorities and workflows.

Harvard’s Library Technology Services team resides within Harvard University Information Technology, and builds, implements, and stewards solutions to fulfill the mission of the Harvard Library: to advance scholarship and teaching through the collection, creation, application, preservation, and dissemination of knowledge.

This is a fully benefited, full-time Harvard University position that has been funded through June 30, 2025. There is the possibility of renewal contingent on funding, University priorities, and satisfactory job performance.
