Please include instructions for how to apply.: The Archives Intern will report to the Historian and assist in the Archive’s core functions, primarily collections management tasks related to ongoing inventory and digitization efforts. This position must maintain the strict confidentiality of all Club business.
Essential Functions of the Job
Assist in the inventory, cataloging, and accessioning of historical assets in the Archives collections.
Implement approved collections management procedures for the care and preservation of historical assets, both in storage and on display.
Caption and ingest collection assets into digital asset management system.
Completes additional projects as assigned by the Historian, and supports other departmental priorities and assignments as needed.
Qualifications (required unless stated otherwise):
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Knowledge of contemporary archival and collections management principles and practices
Experience with electronic content and digital asset management systems preferred
Ability to be organized and logical while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
Knowledge of golf, Augusta National and the Masters Tournament preferred
Experience/Education:
Graduate of an accredited college or university in a Bachelors program, preferably in History, Museum, Archival, or Library Studies preferred
Graduate or current student in an accredited Masters or post-graduate program preferred
Experience in a museum or archival collections institution preferred
