The North Olympic History Center (https://www.clallamhistoricalsociety.com/) and Quileute Tribe are looking to digitize a number of historical documents held by the Center. The scans would be added to the Center’s digital offerings, with copies made available to the Tribe for integration into their own archives.
This solicitation for scanning the material only; the Center’s staff would follow behind and add the relevant metadata. There are approximately 2 linear feet of material to be digitized. The Center’s director estimates between 50 and 60 hours to complete scanning. Material is mostly handwritten, typed, or printed loose papers, with a few books, paper on wood backing, wax seals, and other miscellaneous materials. The work must be completed on site, 933 W 9th St, Port Angeles, WA 98363. The Center already has all the required equipment and software to complete the project.
The project is not yet funded, the Center and Tribe will submit a grant request late February, with winners announced early April. Funding should be available late April or early May.
