Job Description (if URL to posting not available). Include instructions for how to apply.:
The Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation seeks a full-time Collections Manager to maintain the historic collection of this nonprofit organization that runs a museum on the site of one of the main camps where Japanese Americans were incarcerated during World War II. We are looking for someone with a commitment to social justice and a belief in our overall mission, which reaches far beyond our museum site between Cody and Powell, Wyo.
The Collections Manager is responsible for tracking and caring for all historic artifacts, artwork, photographs, and documents in the Foundation’s care. The Collections Manager ensures that both internal and external stakeholders can efficiently access the collections in a manner that ensures the safety of all objects. Starting salary is $40,000-45,000 commensurate with experience and other qualifications. Health benefits and paid time off are included in the total compensation package.
In addition to their usual duties, the Collections Manager will also help to monitor, safeguard, and transfer the collections during the 2023 construction of the Foundation’s Mineta-Simpson Institute and LaDonna Zall Research Lab, which will more than double our current curatorial storage space. The Collections Manager may also be asked to advise on furnishing the new archival storage.
