Join our dynamic and innovative team at the Texas State Archives, where we preserve and safeguard the vital historical record of the state of Texas. We provide archival, genealogical, and historical information to the public and to state government in person and online, including through the Texas Digital Archive https://tsl.access.preservica.com/, our portal to electronic archival state government records and digitized archival records and collections.
This archivist position will be engaged in digitization (including physical document preparation and compiling metadata) as well as appraisal, accessioning, processing, and describing government records and manuscripts in all formats (including electronic) and providing reference support. Depending on the length of your experience (internship/capstone/volunteer experience counts!), from six months to two years (or more), you will be qualified to be hired at the Archivist I or II level. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent advanced-degree graduates and early-career archivists to establish and broaden skills in these essential archival functions.
