Intern – Corporate Archivist
Position Summary:
Intern will physically organize and digitally catalog our archival collection with assistance and guidance from the Corporate Historians. The goal is to ensure the collection is archivally protected to the appropriate level and organized in such a fashion that materials can be easily retrieved by a person not familiar with the collection. This project includes physical objects of varying sizes, photographs, documents, and original works of art.
Responsibilities:
Intern will be responsible to bring the collection from a disorganized state to a more professional level suitable as a corporate archives. Intern will take guidance from the Office of the CEO and Corporate Historians regarding the relative historic or economic value of the materials then ensure they are retrievable both physically and digitally. Ordering appropriate archival supplies will be key throughout the process.
Qualifications:
Experience in working with database management and computer skills. Methodical, with strong attention to detail. Good communication. Research skills. Initiative. An interest in history and the management of information. Familiarity with collections management systems for organization and retention of archives and collections into one database.
How You Show Up:
This position will require a highly organized individual with history / archival / library interests and education with the ability to work effectively with minimal guidance. Strong archival and database/software knowledge and skills are critical. Promoting the excitement of the project to the National Life Group enterprise will require solid writing and communication skills. An ability to present at meetings is important.

The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
