Job Description (if URL to posting not available). Include instructions for how to apply.:
The Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site located in Plymouth, Vermont is a historic village that boasts the birthplace of the 30th president of the United States, the house where Coolidge was sworn-in as president, and a grange hall that served as the 1924 Summer White House. The site is currently seeking an intern to contribute towards the reinventing of an existing exhibit about the Summer White House.
• The selected individual will be responsible for researching and writing refreshed text that includes an exploration of the purpose of the Summer White House, summarizing the role of grange halls in rural communities, and the hall’s foundational impact on Coolidge’s career.
o The intern will also make recommendations for visual components of the exhibit by researching historic photographs available through digital repositories.
o Finally, because the exhibit is located in a second-story space that is not served by an elevator, the intern will duplicate the information and visuals in a guide that can be displayed on the accessible first floor.
o It is anticipated that the research work is to be done at the site, with some exploration at the Plymouth Historical Society, Vermont Historical Society, academic libraries, etc.
• On-site housing is available in a historic cottage that meets basic needs and includes a cooktop, microwave, and mini fridge.

Period of Work
Expected June 12-August 5 (8 weeks) with some flexibility. 8 hours a day/5 days a week, with some weekends necessary. This is paid temporary employment with the State of Vermont.
