Minimum Degree Requirement:
Master’s in Library Science (MLS or MLIS) with Special Collections/Archives specialization or Master’s in related field with certificate in Archival studies. Second Master’s required for appointment above lecturer level.

The Lloyd Sealy Library of John Jay College of Criminal Justice/CUNY seeks an adjunct assistant archivist to work part time in the Special Collections. Up to 14 weekday hours between 9am and 6pm are available.
The Assistant Archivist will provide assistance to the Special Collections Librarian with processing and maintenance of the John Jay College Archives, Manuscript/Archival collections and Rare Books. Main tasks will be processing additions to the College Archives, creating finding aids and inventories, researcher relations and assistance with collection maintenance of our extensive archival collections and rare books Additional tasks include adding digital objects and metadata to our Library Digital Collections, answering researcher inquiries as well as scheduling and supervision of visitors to our Special Collections Reading Room.
