Summer Continuing Education for Archivists and Others!
Interrupting the usual flow of job posts for a small ad for my program!
My regular job is to manage programming for the Continuing Education Services office at the University of Wisconsin – Madison iSchool. We offer a variety of CE opportunities such as online courses, conferences, and (hopefully again sometime soon!) international library tours. We have a few upcoming online classes that may be of interest to the Archives Gig audience. All classes have an early bird discount of 10% off the total cost if you register at least two weeks before the start date. (Discount is automatically applied at checkout.) Class sizes are capped and they do fill, so registering sooner rather than later is encouraged! If you have questions about anything, my work email is mclowe@wisc.edu.
Some examples of upcoming classes include:
- Social Media Strategies & Analytics (June 7 – July 3)
- SALE Fostering Engagement: Events and Programs in the Academic Library (June 14 – July 11) – use promo code ischool20 at checkout for a 20% discount (which is applied to the already discounted early bird price!)
- Introduction to Web Archiving (July 12 – August 22)
- and more!
Classes are asynchronous, and there are no live meetings. You should expect to log in at least once or twice per week to complete weekly tasks, about 2-3 hours per week. Anyone is welcome to sign up for a CE class; they are open to all! They are not eligible for academic credit, but those who successfully complete all course requirements are granted a certificate of completion.
