Please include instructions for how to apply.: The DC Oral History Collaborative (DCOHC) is a city-wide initiative to document and preserve the history of Washington’s residents and communities through the collection of oral histories. The project surveys and publicizes new and existing oral history collections provides grants and training for scholars and amateur historians to launch new oral history projects and contributes interviews to the DC Public Library’s Special Collections archive where they are preserved as a resource for residents and scholars.
HumanitiesDC is looking for an editor who can prepare oral history collections for submission to the DC Public Library’s Special Collections archive. These oral history collections were submitted as part of the DCOHC grants programs. The editor will review transcripts, metadata, and other documentation accompanying oral history audio recordings and will edit those materials to conform to an established style guide. The editor will produce descriptions and metadata for the interviews, as necessary, based on the available interview transcripts.
