Please include instructions for how to apply.: The Digital Curation Librarian will design and maintain workflows supporting our shared stewarding of digital content and be a leader in shaping our processes, including the administration of our institutional repository, digital preservation, and web archiving services. This position will also engage in research and instructional services, collection development, outreach and liaison activities with assigned academic departments.
Ensure that digital content in the collections is accessible to appropriate audiences, following the strictures of privacy
concerns and copyright regulations. Acquire and process born digital collections and materials, including appraisal,
accessioning, arrangement and description.
Work with digital preservation vendors to ensure the proper collection and storage of archival materials.
Perform web archiving and work to remove data from legacy storage media and apply digital preservation standards and
practices. Oversee the continued interoperability between the department’s digital asset management systems – currently
Islandora, Archivematica, Archive-it and ArchivesSpace .
Provide in-person and online research assistance. Collaborate with faculty to develop and deliver course-related
library/research workshops, including creating research guides and other online learning resources.
Develop and maintain liaison relationships with specific academic departments and relevant print and online collections.
Contribute actively to the formulation of library policies, procedures, goals and priorities, including present and future
strategic planning efforts. Serve as an effective member of the library community through professional development
(especially related to digital preservation and archival practices) and service to the profession.
