Position Description
The Center for Railroad Photography & Art is piloting a metadata crowdsourcing platform through which subject matter experts can actively assist our archivists in enhancing the metadata for our collections. Under the supervision of the Digital Archives Manager, the Digital Projects Assistant will support administration of the crowdsourcing program, identify gaps in collections data and add missing item records, verify crowdsourced information, and update collections database entries based on community feedback. If time permits, this position may assist with other reformatting or metadata projects from the archive. Specific knowledge of railroading is not required, as long as applicants are curious and willing to learn.
Requirements
– Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program (information science or related field preferred, but not required)
– Experience with data entry or management
– Written communication skills
– Ability to work on-site in Madison, Wisconsin
Details
$16/hour
Part-time, up to 8 hours per week
